Today is July 2, and today's giveaway is sponsored by Ellen Keast. [5] FIVE lucky winners will receive a signed copy of each of Ellen's books, "A Snowy Week" and "A Rainy Week".
A Snowy Week is an extraordinary children’s book written and illustrated by a wonderful new talent, 10 year old Ellen Frances Keast. To a child, snow is a magical event. It means sledding and sliding, building snowmen, and snowball fights. It also means that there may not be any school! In the story, seven-year-old Ellen watches the weather forecast on TV, and believes that since it’s now spring, there just can’t be any more snow. But then the snow begins to fall. There is so much snow that school is called off for an entire week. When Ellen awakens one morning, she realizes the big snowfall only happened in her dreams. But when she looks out the window, she sees the most amazing sight! There really was snow overnight!

In her second book, A Rainy Week, 11-year-old Ellen is very excited about vacationing at Lake Okoboji in northern Iowa. Summer is her favorite time of year, and her favorite activity is going to the lake. But the nice sunny weather Ellen expected has vanished into a week-long deluge of rain. What’s a girl to do to keep busy when her outdoor plans are ruined? Even though it’s raining, there are many fun indoor activities for kids to have a grand time!
