If many of you have heard of Groupon and LivingSocial, then you know that they are daily deal sites that feature great things to eat, see, or do in your city. Looking to innovate, the founders of PriceKnock recognized two problems in Groupon, LivingSocial and other local deal sites model – they offer deals in local areas, and while they have started to offer deals from online retailers, their core competency is in offering local deals. So the problem is that people who live in New York may not get to see an online deal that is featured in Los Angeles. The second issue is user preference – people never know what deal they will get in their inbox; one day you could get a deal for a restaurant and another day you could get a deal for a nail salon.

PriceKnock builds off of the local daily deal model and focuses on only servicing online retailers, allowing users to seek deals based on their interests rather than their city. This way people know what type of deals they are going to get and they are available nationwide.
