When Maryellen Murphy, a marketing and communications director for a large financial services company, was asked to plan the annual holiday party, she had the challenge of coming up with a fun and exciting idea to help stimulate conversations among a cross section of employees whose paths were unlikely to have crossed during the year. Using an assortment of office stationery and wrapping paper, Maryellen created decorative table tent style cards with trivia questions about classic holiday movies and placed several different ones on each table at the party. In no time at all, guests noticed the handcrafted cards and began to read and ask each other the questions, creating conversations among acquaintances, competition among peers and nostalgic memories among friends. And from that, the concept of Table Tent Trivia was born!
